1/27/2024 0 Comments 9 month old lip quiver![]() ![]() Hope that helps set your mind at ease! Our little guy has hardly done it in the last week. a rare thing, but something that will eventually go away and no need to worry. So you may still want to check with your pediatrician just in case, but I would imagine that if everything else seems totally normal, it's hopefully the same thing. We also have no family history of seizures, which they asked. And because there were no other things to be concerned with, they ruled out anything else it could have been. Also, as I described it to the doctor, when he does it, he's fully alert, sometimes smiling or talking, or just waking up, never unconscious. ![]() Now, let me add that they did examine my baby and checked reflexes, asked questions such as does he have any other strange movements? staring spells? birthmarks? (i have no idea what that was about) and such. He called it "Benign Chin Trembling" for lack of a better term and said that they only get about 2 cases a year, but it's nothing to worry about. If I forget to get back on here, I often have mommy-brain! please feel free to send me a message next week and I'll let you know what the neurologist says. and so far things are looking really good that it's nothing to worry about. Also his doctor said that if it were seizure related, he'd probably be very lethargic afterwards, which he is not. It's so hard when you don't know what's going on, but two things that set my mind at ease were this: I heard that if you can touch his chin and it stops, it's very unlikely to be seizure activity. It seems to be going away, which makes me wonder if it's just an odd growing nervous system thing. oh, and just in the last few days it has significantly decreased, although it has still happened once or twice each day. He is otherwise really healthy and happy. ![]() I will let you know what we find out, because I tried searching for info online and couldn't find much. completely normal! Praise God! And we go to the neurologist on Monday. I took him to the pediatrician, and while she said he seems very healthy and it's probably just a weird thing, she did order an EEG for him and referred us to a neurologist just to be on the safe side. for about 2 weeks, it was happening a lot. It was the worst right when he'd wake up, although it happens other times too. My son started doing this a few weeks ago just before he turned 5 months and it really worried me. ![]()
